Kathleen Majors, MD

Meet Kathleen Majors, MD, a board-certified specialist in Pain Management and Anesthesiology. She has been a pillar of the Shreveport-Bossier City community for over 27 years. At FLEX Institute, Dr. Majors is ready to walk with you on the journey to wellness, bringing warmth and expertise to every step of your journey.

Dr. Majors’ path in medicine began with an internship in Internal Medicine, followed by an Anesthesiology residency. It was during her final year of residency, working alongside pain management physicians, that she discovered her passion for this field.

For Dr. Majors, the essence of her practice is about providing hope and solutions to those who have tried numerous other avenues without success. She assures her patients that, while there might be ups and downs, she is committed to crafting a personalized treatment plan that considers medications, injections, physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and more. Her approach is holistic, focusing not just on pain relief but on enhancing overall quality of life.

Often, patients come to Dr. Majors after multiple surgeries, still struggling with pain. She takes pride in changing their perception of pain management by showing them it’s about more than just medication—it’s about looking at the whole picture, and sometimes medication isn’t even needed. When it is, she ensures strict regulation with thoughtful measures like a narcotics contract.

Understanding the profound impact of chronic pain, Dr. Majors empathizes deeply with her patients.

“Chronic pain is difficult, and I don’t think unless you have had chronic pain, you can realize how destructive it can be to patients’ lives,” she said.

She often recalls a metaphor from a mentor: “Imagine a rock in your shoe—it might not bother you the first day, but wear it every day, and it becomes unbearable.”

This insight fuels her drive to alleviate the burdens of chronic pain, offering a lifeline not only to patients but to their families as well.

Outside of her professional sphere, Dr. Majors cherishes her family life. Happily married to retired obstetrician Dr. Jake Majors, they have two daughters and a son. An avid animal lover, she finds joy in outdoor adventures with her family.

Matthew Mosura, MD

Introducing Matthew Mosura, MD, a highly respected Shreveport-Bossier native and leader in Interventional Pain Management. From the outset of his medical training, Dr. Mosura excelled in procedure-based medicine, making anesthesia a natural fit for his skills.

Although he enjoyed his time in the operating room, he found himself missing the personal interactions of a clinic setting. After completing his anesthesiology residency, he discovered that interventional pain management perfectly blended his procedural expertise with his passion for patient care. His fellowship at MD Anderson in Houston was a pivotal step, yet his deep ties to family and friends drew him back home to the Shreveport-Bossier community.

Dr. Mosura’s primary goal is to help patients regain their activity levels through a balanced, multimodal approach that may include medication management, physical therapy, and injections.

He profoundly believes in the importance of his work, stating, “I truly believe we treat a special group of patients that much of the medical world would prefer to ignore. I think pain and how to treat it scares many physicians and that spills over to the patient and ultimately the care they receive. On the other hand, we at FLEX do understand that pain is real and needs real treatments and real compassionate care.”

At FLEX, Dr. Mosura is dedicated to offering real solutions with genuine compassion, ready to guide patients on their journey to improved health and well-being.

Despite the challenges of his work, Dr. Mosura finds joy and energy in his family life. He shares his life with his wife, Krista, and their two sons, remaining actively involved in their church and community. In his downtime, Dr. Mosura cherishes hunting and fishing with his sons or embarking on outdoor adventures as a family.
